Are you looking for a new challenge? This role is perfect for someone who has secured a Mathematics degree and maybe interested in teaching as a future career.

You will be joining St Edmund’s at an exciting time as we are part of the St Francis and St Clare’s Catholic Multi-Academy Company launched in September 2019. Our mission is to nurture the gifts and talents of every student and every member of staff and, as such, is a very supportive, special place to work.

With a combination of in-class support and work with small groups of Year 11 students of all abilities, mentors are fully supported by the academy; but will also have the opportunity to work independently and creatively. You will need to be passionate about the subject and able to engage with young people. This is an ideal opportunity to gain work experience in preparation for teacher training.

Experience and Skills

  • Mathematics degree with a minimum of 2:2 or above
  • Confidence to work with students of all abilities as they prepare for GCSE examinations
  • Excellent communication skills, a patient manner and proactive within the classroom

To succeed in this role you must be a resilient graduate with a true passion for education and the ability to work flexible hours (Monday to Friday) to be agreed with the academy. Ideally, your future aspirations will be to teach and this role can offer an important stepping-stone to an exciting career. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
